Assistive-device research
My work at Limbitless Solutions and the WEAR Laboratory explored how mechanisms can improve grasping and transfer motion between parts of the body. These are research and prototype projects, separate from the production-focused projects.
Bionic hand grasp testing
The hand project investigated more symmetrical mechanisms inspired by nature for grasping irregular objects. I developed Fusion 360 models and electromechanical test fixtures, with FEA supporting structural evaluation.
WULL motion-transfer mechanism
The WULL research project used shoulder rotation and elbow flexion to drive assistive lower-limb motion. My work included SolidWorks component design, an ergonomic shin brace, and prototyping ratchet / pulley mechanisms for integration into the wearable assembly.
Contributions
These projects developed my experience in fixture design, human factors, cable-driven actuation, rapid prototyping, and mechanical integration. The videos document the broader project context; my contributions are described above.
